Taylor's revolutionary T5 straddles the line between acoustic and electric guitars. The thinline hollowbody hybrid incorporates three-pickups: an acoustic body sensor, a concealed neck humbucker, and a visible bridge humbucker. Five-way switching and onboard tone controls unleash maximum flexibility and a broad palette of electric and amplified acoustic flavors. Adding to the crossover appeal is the T5's dual compatibility with electric and acoustic amps. A newer addition to the T5 family is the T5z, which leans slightly more toward the electric playing experience. Design distinctions include a more compact body, a 12-inch fretboard radius (compared to 15-inch on the T5), plus jumbo frets for easy string-bending. Electric players will find the T5z to be a pleasantly compatible feel, with an affinity for high-gain distortion. Both the T5 and T5z come in four models, featuring soundboard options of koa, maple, spruce or mahogany.
